When's My Presentation? Living with ADHD!

  • Learning Differences World Lakewood, CO (map)

STUDENTS ARE WELCOME!

We are thrilled that Bradley Elkus, co-owner of Coyote Tactical Solutions Group, a private security company, will give us insight into living with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). He will enlighten us about:
♦ K-12 education
> Learning coping skills – what worked, what didn’t
> Why and when he decided to take medication
> Extra-curricular activities and nurturing a chaotic mind
♦ Army Experience – Learning to thrive in a rigid environment
♦ College – Why passion is important
♦ Ongoing growth and continued improvements
> Sleep issues, healthy and not healthy ways to cope
> Being a night owl
> Managing impulsive behavior and motivating long term financial goals
> Professionalism under pressure
> Finding work environments that work for me
> Utilizing physical fitness as an over-pressure brain valve
♦ Becoming an entrepreneur

Bradley is a 27 year old young man who has worked very hard to find ways to make his ADHD work for him. After graduating from Jeffco Open School with an ALP and an IEP, he worked in security, went going to college, and finally decided to join the Army.

During his 4 years in the Army, Bradley became a medic. He loved the technical and medical challenges of being a medic. He received several awards/commendations for his work. After leaving the military, Bradley went to college and worked toward his nursing degree. The more he learned about nursing the less he thought he'd like it and found a passion outside of traditional education.

He returned to the field of security work and is now starting his own security firm, Coyote Tactical Solutions Group, with two of his friends.
